I'm very excited to have my work feature in The Seasons of War, a charity anthology, featuring tales about John Hurt's War Doctor...and raising funds for Caudwell Children.
There's a great review, including a link to the short promo film here:
https://trapone.wordpress.com/2015/02/10/seasons-of-war-2/
These are the sketches I produced, which were used in the film:
Once approved, my finished drawings were copied onto aged paper and used as part of the narrative of the film.
I also provided illustrations for a short story within the anthology, written by Kate Orman.
If you want to see those, may I suggest you make a small donation to Declan May's JustGiving page, which is raising money for Caudwell Children;

Sorry for the long period without updates, I've been a bit overworked the last few months, what with one thing and another, and have only managed to update my Facebook Art page on a semi-regular basis...
So here's another update before the year turns yet again.
I've had a bit of an early spring clean over at my Etsy Shop:
https://www.etsy.com/shop/SpiritedPortraits
I have closed my listings for Christmas greetings cards and listed some new items;
non-generic greetings cards!
Here are a few examples:
All my cards are professionally printed onto 200gsm card, which has a lovely silk finish, and the colours are bright and vibrant too! Each card measures 10.5 x 14.8cm and comes with a bright white envelope, packaged in a clear cellophane sleeve.
Watch out for more updates on this page in 2015!!
May I take this opportunity to wish you and yours all the very best for the New Year.
Carolyn x

Just released, and now available as a print here:
https://www.etsy.com/listing/200256300/my-time-peter-capaldi-as-doctor-who-a4
is my new artwork to celebrate Peter Capaldi's debut as the Doctor this coming weekend...
I will also be attending The Shadow Proclamation Event in Middlesbrough this coming weekend, and hoping to catch Peter Capaldi's debut on the Saturday evening... I will have a stall, selling prints, original art, sketch cards, cards and bookmarks too. It should be a cracking event, if the guest list is anything to go by... :-)

These are my Artist Return cards from Cryptozoic's Hobbit set, which was released on July 9th.
I have decided, following the amount of interest in these cards, that the fairest way to sell them would be to put them on eBay, one at a time.
So, Galadriel is now up for auction here:

Happy bidding!

A long overdue update!
The 60th Philly Non-Sport Card show, Allentown, USA May 2014 was a blast. I had a great time, met some lovely people and sold some artwork too. I love visiting the USA. This was only my second time stateside.
Many thanks to Harris Toser and his family and friends, who looked after me so well during my stay.
Since then, I've been busy catching up with commissions, and attending a few local Sci-Fi shows, one in Liverpool, one in Bolton last weekend, and there's another one this weekend - WiganComicCon :
I designed a poster for the show.
I'll be selling limited edition prints - signed and numbered - at the event,
and giving some of the proceeds to charity.
I'll also be selling something a little new:
individually painted mini box canvases:
I recently had all my sketch cards approved for Cryptozoic's Hobbit set, due out 9th July.
I will have 3 artist return cards. I will be publishing those and making them available via eBay, to be fair to everyone, once I have them in hand.

Sci-Fi Scarborough was a blast!
The Cat himself, Danny John Jules spotted my new portrait of him while passing my stall and came straight over to see it, and approve it!
I suspect it is an event which will grow from strength to strength, considering the success of its début.
This is the next event I will be attending, up in Stockton on Tees:

Meanwhile, I have commissions to finish, two card sets to complete and prep work for a show in the USA at the beginning of May. It's going to be yet another month where I stretch myself too thin. Eek!
